Do you feel like you’re always playing catch up with grants?
Listen! You are not alone.
I am working with a client who has an org budget greater than $10M to build out a master grant tracker.
They have applied to federal grants in the past but have not tapped into private funding resources.
Now, they are ready to pursue corporate and foundation grants. While federal grants are still a major opportunity, shifts in priorities and federal funding halts can make them unpredictable.
We worked together to build a grant pipeline of private funding sources—corporate and foundation grants. These funders often have more flexibility, fewer reporting requirements, and quicker turnaround times. We utilized research tools like Foundation Directory Online (FDO) by Candid or Instrumentl to find funders that align with the client’s mission.
This what we did to build their private grants pipeline.
Here’s what you can include in your grant funding tracker:
- Funder’s Name
- Grant Amount
- Due Date and Date Submitted
- Status (Pending, Awarded, etc)
- Grant Type (General Ops, Capacity Building, etc)
How is your grants pipeline shaping up for 2025?
